Halloween Makings

Do you decorate for Halloween? It is not something I ever thought I would choose to do, but Nola and Kira love the idea of skeletons in the garden and ghosts surprising visitors. For the last two years they have been in charge of all things spooky. 

This year I’m starting to add my own makings to our collection and I’ve written about it on Spoonful. Apparently, our trip to Disney World is still on my mind…

A Not So Scary Halloween 

I'm excited about this post as it is all about our trip to Disney World last week. I created the post using the updated Story app, which includes new themes, music and animations.

How to Make a Needle-Felted Mushroom

 

A couple of years ago around this time of year, a friend of mine taught me how to make a needle-felted mushroom. It was red and white and had little spots on the top. I've been hooked on needle-felting ever since.

  

Needle-felted mushrooms are a beautiful autumn craft. Creating something organic brings an earthy and simple elegance to the day. And the roving (wool fleece) feels and smells so good.

  

These mushrooms would make a really pretty centerpiece for an autumn meal and I'm about to create a fairy tea party for Nola and Kira using them as decorations.

Secrets to Magical Moments at Disney World

Last week we had a glorious vacation at the beach in Sarasota, FL. The highlight of the trip was surprising Nola and Kira with a trip to Disney World!

We made it all the way to Orlando without the girls even suspecting anything was up. We told them in the hotel room right before taking them to Downtown Disney. They freaked out! They were literally bouncing off the walls and the beds and squealing with delight.

It was one of our favorite parenting moments that we will never forget.
