Yesterday at school Kira lost her first tooth.
Kira was delighted that all of her friends were there and she said everyone crowded around and looked at it. The Spanish teacher put her tooth in an envelope and her tiny tooth made it home safely.
(My heart aches a little that I missed 'the event.')
Now Nola and Kira have matching gaps!
Bizarre Identical Twin Fact... as babies and toddlers, Nola and Kira started teething within hours of each other. Each of their teeth came in on the same day!
Nola lost her first tooth 6 weeks before Kira.
Check back very soon to see Nola and Kira's tooth fairy pouches!

Here is Kira and Nola's 'official' first day of first grade school picture. Last year they were in a half-day kindergarten program, so this is their first full day of school. And a day I have dreaded since the girls were born.
All at once all my children are gone - it is the only down-side to having twins.
From kindergarten to twelfth grade, Eric has a first day of school picture taken next to the same front door. How can we break with tradition? I love that Nola and Kira are holding hands - I didn't ask them to.
While we were in England, I bought each of the girls a school uniform dress that English school girls wear in the warmer months. Nola (on the right) wore hers to school today. I have such memories of wearing a little red checked dress and grey cardigan to school. And I must be the only person who sends their kid to school in a uniform when the school doesn't require one!
The girls came home saying they thought they would learn more and that their Spanish teacher doesn't know many English words. I think it is going to be a good year.
Have your kids started back at school yet? Do you have any back-to-school traditions? My mum used to bring us breakfast in bed the day before school started.

I’m feeling a little emotional today as the thought of the girls going off to school all day becomes real.
You see, last year Nola and Kira were in a half-day kindergarten class. We have spent the afternoon together playing, making, reading, swinging, being... And now my sweet Curly Birds will be at school until 3.
While I convince myself that I’m looking forward to more ‘me’ time. Here are a few back-to-school crafts my Curly Birds love:
1. Pencil Holders | 2. Hand-Stitched Mummy Hugs | 3. Pocket Hearts | 4. Felt Holder | 5. Lunch Fun | 6. Art Tube | 7. Pocket Hearts for Mum and Dad

We extended our trip to England for a week and flew to Cork, Ireland to stay in the house of someone I know so well, but had never met. Michelle McInerney of MollyMoo. In the last three years we have bonded over kids, crafts, and blogs.
In Ireland we got to meet for the first time. It was surreal and yet so comfortable. Michelle and I quickly felt like old friends. We spent the whole weekend catching up, making plans, and laughing. Yes, there was lots of laughing.
Our girls, who probably don't remember a time before they were looking at each other on Instagram, got to play. They were insparable.
Our families were so relaxed, that it felt like we always hang out in Ireland together. Or maybe that is just my
dream.
That feeling when you know someone so well that you don't have to say anything... We got there.
