I don't often post pictures of myself on my blog. Truth be told... I feel like a big dork in front of the camera and pictures always show it. It is hard to take an interesting photograph of someone who stands uncomfortably looking like she is waiting for a bus.
You can imagine my delight at receiving the above picture from my recent photo shoot. I LOVE it! Here are my secrets to a fabulous headshot.
Friendly Photographer I asked Ken, of Frampton Photography, to take my picture because he is a friend of Eric’s, a good photographer, and I’m not shy around him.
Fabulous Hair I scheduled a hair appointment the morning of my shoot, which is why my hair looks way better than normal.
Forgiving Wardrobe I spent all day shopping for a new outfit for the picture. In the end, I took two over-priced tops back to the store and wore one from my closet that I knew looked good.
Happy Place My sewing machine, craft supplies, and Dala horse make me happy and it shows.
Silly Audience I
knew my girls would keep me feeling relaxed and jolly, so I made sure they were
home when I took my pictures.
And because having two 6 year olds can go from relaxed and jolly to tears and tantrums in a flash, both girls had a job to keep them focused. Nola’s job was to make sure my bangs remained perfectly straight at all times and Kira’s job was to document.
Both girls took their jobs VERY seriously. Note: action shot below (1 of 300)Image: Kira
