My girls are prolific artists - almost every day they come home from school with the sweetest drawings. I love their artwork, but by the time I get it out of their backpacks, it is all crumpled.
Today I made each girl an art tube to live in their backpacks and carry their artwork home safely.
Really it is just a decorated paper towel tube. I started off by drawing a design on water color paper.
For Kira's tube I used Japanese masking tape to make little pendants.
Next, I wrapped the paper around the tube and stuck the paper together with more cute tape.
I decided to keep both tube ends open so it is super quick and easy for the girls to put their artwork in. I simply finished off each end with tape. I cut little tabs in the tape, so it folded nicely into the tube.
The girls were quite taken by their art tubes and looked genuinely surprised that I cared about the condition of their pictures - it made them very happy to know I looked forward to seeing their pictures each day.
