For the last few weeks our family has been sick with the flu. I made these sweet story dice as a quiet activity to entertain poorly little girls. We rolled the dice and weaved a story from the pictures. And they must have worked because we are all better now!
To make the dice, use card stock to construct a cube and decorate the cube with fun pictures your kids can easily recognize. The girls had as much fun choosing what pictures I should make as they did telling stories.
I made my pictures from cutting out colored paper to glue onto the cube. You can always use stickers, stamps or pictures from magazines to decorate the dice.
My full tutorial can be found on Bloesem Kids.

I am taking a community class in photography at my local university. I am so inspired by the many beautiful pictures I see on-line like here, here, and here and it makes me want to venture off the automatic setting on my camera (Nikon D90). For the next 10 weeks I'll be sharing my assignments...
Assignment 1: Take a picture of a pinecone
Nola was laying on the grass (still hoping to make snow-angles I think) and I stood on our picnic table and took this picture of her holding my pinecone.
I would love your feedback, critiques, guidance and comments. Please, do share.

It has been a cold, sickly winter and I need a little spring
7 butterflies cut out of felt in the brightest color possible
The wings sewn together with really little stitches
The wings opened, the body laid on top of the wings and sewn to the canvas
A swarm created for dreaming of spring
Made for Babiekins Magazine and sent to warm my neice.
