Do you remember last July when Nola's name appeared on a banner in The Land of Nod catalog? We all rallied together to ask The Land of Nod to include Kira's name, and one of my very best friends even wrote a poem. Well, the January catalog is out and my sweet Kira was dancing for joy and singing a "I love Land of Nod" song when she saw her name in the catalog.
Kira says she wants the catalog page framed and hanging on her wall!
Just in case your kiddos want their name on a banner or in pretty letters for their room, The Land of Nod has a lovely selection of banners and letters that you can buy. The Land of Nod has kindly agreed to give one of you lucky readers a $50 e-gift card. I am awfully sorry, but federal regulations require that the winner be a US resident.
All you have to do is visit The Land of Nod and leave a comment below. The winner will be announced next Monday.
The winner is Wendy! Congratulations
One of my favourite pictures of the girls taken 3 years ago by Spencer Combs.
On the girls’ second day of kindergarten, I walked around my very quiet and empty house like a lost puppy.
After almost 6 years of sweet little girl sounds, running little feet, and bighearted hugs throughout the day, I have to get used to a new rhythm.
For a fleeting moment I thought about another baby, perhaps just a kitten?
Today, on my girls’ third day of kindergarten, I hope to embrace my people growing up instead of dread it. I surly can’t do anything to change it. I’m feel full of possibilities. I hope to bring you lots of new crafts, tutorials and inspiration – so watch this space!
Dear Land of Nod . . .
Now this may seem odd,
But there IS nothing dearer,
Than five year old Kira,
Happening upon your latest issue.
Though alas! This happening required a tissue,
On seeing her twin represented so bold,
She had to be calmed, she would not be told!
“I see there is Nola hanging above,
But where is my name, where is the love??”
Days have now passed
(and we thought, “This can’t last!)
Yet every day is exactly the same….
With Kira determined to see her own name.
A simple wish we ask this of you,
Can you make our dear Kira’s one wish come true?
Poem written by my wittiest and closest childhood friend, Julie Taylor
I received a comment yesterday from Danielle Kurtz, Creative Director at Land of Nod, saying that Kira's name will be in a catalog later this year. YEA!! Thank you Danielle - you have made my Kira a very happy girl.
I'll be sure to let you know when the Land of Nod catalog with Kira's name is out. I think we all need to buy something from it.
(This is NOT a sponsored post!)
We understand that there are a lot of children's names in the world and maybe you have a system like designing banners after your kids, nieces and nephews or furry friends. But please, PLEASE include Kira in your next issue. It would mean so much to a tiny fan who faithfully sleeps in her Jenny Lind bed every night while dreaming of pretty dolls (and Kira banners).
Thank you and lots of love from,
Nola and Kira
P.S. Beloved readers - what do you think?
